After incubation in developer channel, a new beta release has been rolled out for mac users and this time the users can enjoy google chrome extensions as well.

Apart from chrome extension, another important feature is the ability to synchronize the bookmarks across different computers.

Redsn0w 0.9 Final version to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 Firmware

Redsn0w 0.9 is graduated from beta and now you can jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 firmware. RedsnOw is an alternative to jailbreak the iPhone. Other tools like blackra1n, PwnageTool and sn0wbreeze are also available and you can try this one if those don’t work for you.

In this release support for 3rd-generation iPod touch and IPCC tethering has been added.

How to Jailbreak iPhone using RedsnOw:

First of all update your iPhone version to latest one using iTunes.
Install the RedsnOw on your computer and launch it.
Open the Redsnow and browse to the 3.1.2 .ipsw file. (links below)
Redsnow will check the integrity of the file and apply the patch automatically.

iPhone 2G users can select both “Install Cydia” and “Unlock” options. iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPod touch users should only check on “Install Cydia” to jailbreak.

Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will have to quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

Now sit back and let Redsnow to work. Your device will restart automatically with jailbroken iPhone 3.1.2.

After iPad? Nokia N900 XL or N990?

After the announcement of Apple’s iPad, other companies have already started thinking to make similar devices with more features and less price. Jay Montano on MyNokiaBlog has presented a conceptual Nokia device to compete with Apple’s iPad with more features.

I love iPad due to some features like big screen, high resolution but I will hate it due to many reasons like:

Lack of multitasking: Now a days even an ordinary phone has got this feature but it is lacking in iPad and still Steve says it will compete with laptops .
Camera: Ah what a missing. I am a chat lover but I cant make a video call. You will have to use the old fashioned text-only chat in this iPad.
Missing flash player in native browser.

There are a lot of other reasons not to buy it.

The conceptual Nokia device, Jay has named it as Nokia N900 XL (large sized) or N90000 (relatively small size) but I will suggest another name series N990, has all the above mentioned missing features.

We hope the Finish company will soon make a device having the following features.

Every tech person is very curious about Apple’s event “Come See our Latest Creation” which is set for next Wednesday, January 27 in San Francisco. The most expected announcement in this event will be “Apple Tablet”. PCworld.com has published a crowdsourced guide for this event. According to the guide, Apple will come up with the following products in the event.

Apple Tablet:

Many names have been given to this gadget like iTablet, iSlate, iPad but this one will almost definitely be unveiled. Even the features and specifications of this tablet have been leaked out. It will have ebook reader, newspaper reader, audio-video editing tools and so on.

According to the rumours the Apple Tablet will have a 7-inch screen, 10-inch screen, 11-inch screen or Etch-a-Sketch screen. The price of new apple tablet will be in range of $600 to $1000.
