Today was a big day for Apple as the Cupertino based company announced new releases from both hardware and software sections. From hardware store, we have new iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3, iMac with Retina Display and Mac Mini. From software perspective, we have got new version of iOS 8.1 and Yosemite.
By default Apple’s iOS doesn’t contain any function to restart your iPhone or iPad. The first suitable option we have is by using the hardware buttons. As per the official documents, we have to shut down our device first and then start it again using power button in order to reboot the device.
With the release of new iOS 7, Apple also added few more security steps for iPhone and iPad owners. Now when the Find my iPhone feature is turned on, you can neither restore to new and fresh iOS and nor delete the iCloud account without first disabling the Find My iPhone feature. But there is a new bug in iOS 7 – up to iOS 7.0.4 – which allows any user to not only turn off the Find my iPhone but also delete the existing iCloud and add any new account.
Update 1X: Now you can 6S, 6, 5S, 5, 4S, iPad models and iPod Touch running iOS 9 and iOS 8.
Update: Apple had fixed this bug in the recent iOS 7.1 update. But there is a new bug even in the latest release which also allows the users to delete iCloud account without knowing the password. Read the details at the bottom of this post.
Apple introduced few more security measurers, besides the usual Passcode, to make the iPhone useless after it has be stolen or robbed in the latest iOS 7 version. Now the device asks you to enter password every time you want to disable the Find My iPhone and to deactivate the same Find My iPhone feature before restoring to new firmware. Moreover, new activation lock is also introduced which is attached with the Apple ID and password and which is required after every fresh restore. But a new bug is found in iOS 7.0.4 which allows the users to deactivate Find my iPhone without entering the password.
Google doesn’t allow us to listen only the audio if you are not watching the video on iPhone. As soon as you lock your iPhone or send the youtube app in the multitasking tray, the video and audio both will stop. This might be really irritating for some users who want to listen only the audio like in case of interviews.
Here is another rumour emerges for the designed-in-California gadgets’ lovers. According to a french site , Apple is going to hold a media event on October 15th. Thought the exact media event date and what will be present in the event is still not officially confirmed, but if there is any event going to be held in next month then it would be the best time to announce next generation iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 and refreshed Mac series.
After hitting the android’s PlayStore, Google’s revamped Maps 2.0 app lands on AppStore today. What everyone was expecting was enhanced navigation covering more and more countries but see there is one feature. It now officially supports the iPad. In past the design and UI for both iPhone and iPad was same but in 2.0 update there is revamped design specifically for iPad users.
Out of many things, one reason due to which I like iOS/iPhone is its flexibility and customization, especially when iPhone is jailbroken. In fact we can customise every corner and every aspect of iOS using the tweaks and different apps available in the and App Stores. Unlike some other operating systems, iOS contains a third party store where you can find those apps which don’t get their place in official App Store. Another plus point of iOS jailbreaking is that we don’t have to re-install the whole firmware file on the device in order to get some specific modifications. Everything goes smoothly, without disturbing any native function.
