Comex has also posted a teaser image (update: a video too) of white iPad 2.0 running on iOS 4.3 showing Cydia installed on it.

Due to implmentation of ASLR feature in iOS 4.3, MobileSubstrate is broken on jailbroken devices which is required to run many Cydia apps. Here are some tweets from Comex and iPhone Dev Team after jailbreaking iPad 2.0 on iOS 4.3.

iPad 2 Jailbreak Tool will be released, most probably in the form of updated JailbreakMe, after fixing the bugs and packaging it into a jailbreak.

This feature will not be enabled in iOS 4.3 for customers, but we are providing this preview to gather input on how these gestures work with your apps.

Earlier today BGR, a popular tech blog has reported that this multi-touch Gestures feature is being tested on iPhone 4 internally at the Apple’s Cupertino campus. The said blog has also managed to grab some screenshots of this new feature on iPhone 4.

Now we have some video evidence, with Antoni Nygaard managing to get them working on his iPhone, along with the lock/mute switch toggle as well.

As we have told you that Multitouch Gestures are not coming in iOS 4.3 final release so it means Apple is going to save this feature for iOS 5 on iPhone 5 and/or iPad 2G.

It is a backup plan because Comex is working on a more extensible method, but this one is also generalizable. Watch the video of jailbreaked iPod Touch on iOS 4.2.1 after the break.

Nothing is said about the release of this new method. However, if you want to get tethered jailbreak for your device running on iOS 4.2.1, you can use Redsn0w 0.9.6b6. As Redsn0w performs a tethered jailbreak, so you will have to connect your iPhone to PC and run Redsn0w after every reboot to get the jailbroken state.

Hardware is the main problem due to which old iPhone models can’t support the new features properly like FaceTime, HDR Photography, Multitasking etc.

If we compare the hardware of iPhone 3G and iPhone 4, the former is about quarter of the latter. However the video posted by Rene on TiPb shows that iPhone 3G can also handle the iOS 4.2 without any lag and sluggishness.

You can see how well iPhone 3G is performing on iOS 4.2 while typing, zooming, scrolling, opening apps etc.

Now the team behind MobileWhat is working on a new tweak called FaceIt-3GS that will enable FaceTime on iPhone 3GS. As iPhone 3GS doesn’t have front facing camera, so you will have to use the rear camera for this purpose.

FaceIt-3G is almost ready and the final bugs are being removed before it is released for public. You can watch the FaceTime working on a jailbreaked iPhone 3GS in this video:

Groovy is still under development and not released for public. However you can watch the alpha version of Groovy Player in action in the video after the break.

I hope you already know that this app will also require a jailbreaked Apple TV 2G. You can follow the step by step procedure mentioned here to jailbreak your TV2G.

Currently two apps are available for Apple TV. The first app is nitoTV as mentioned above and the second one is Plex client. Plex is popular media centre client for Mac and iOS devices ported to Apple TV 2G while nitoTV app has weather and RSS funtionality.

Here is another feature coming in next version of PwnageTool that will enable the iPad users to restore the device to pre-jailbreak 3.2.2 firmware. MuscleNerd has uploaded the video on YouTube showing how PwnageTool does this flawlessly. Watch the video after the break:

Though the video confirms that the performance of iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G is same but one thing that is not shown in this video is multitasking and this is the area where iPhone 4 will be stong. That means: if I open five different apps one right after the other on my iPhone 4, there is a better chance I’ll be able to jump back to the first app without any wait, while the iPod touch will most likely have to launch that first app again. But, besides that, the two devices do perform virtually the same.
