Finally the wait for Windows users is over now. Chronic Dev Team has released Absinthe v0.2 for both Windows and Mac OS users. Absinthe jailbreak tool supports only iPhone 4s running on either iOS 5.0 or iOS 5.0.1 and iPad 2 running on iOS 5.0.1. It doesn’t support the old idevices like iPhone 4, iPad 2 etc. The old models can be jailbroken with Redsn0w which you can download here.
In case you want to get an unlock for iPhone 4S in future, you must not upgrade your device to iOS 5.0.1 if it is still on iOS 5.0.
The untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreaking with Absinthe is very simple just like Greenpois0n. All you have to do to follow these simple steps.
Step 1: Download Absinthe for your operating system.
Step 2: Unzip and press the “jailbreak” button.
Step 3: Wait and be patient. The restore process will take some time. Once it is completed, launch the absinthe icon from homescreen of your iPhone. It will reboot your device.
Step 4: When the device comes back, you will see cydia icon on your iPhone.
Enjoy jailbroken iPhone 4s and iPad 2.
