In Windows 7 and Windows Vista if you create some password protected user accounts, they are shown every time on the welcome screen of windows. Hmm suppose you have created a account with a girly name and you are caught by your girlfriend.
This is only one example and you can think a lot of examples in which you want to hide your user accounts so they don’t appear on Welcome Screen.
One single edit in the registry can hide all those accounts, but now you will have to remember the User names as well as passwords.
How to Hide User Accounts on Welcome Screen in Windows 7 ?

- Click Start and in the search field type regedit or type regedit in the RUN box.
- Find the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software \Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Policies \System.
- In the right pane, double click the DontDisplayLastName and set its value to 1.
- Click on OK to confirm the change and restart your system so that changes take effect.
