Finally Mozilla has shown its intention about Firefox Mobile for android based mobiles and, yes, it will be released late this year.

According to the Techradar, the development of firefox for android became possible after the release of NDK (native development kit) due to which the native code was used for the app. Jay Sullivan, Mozilla’s VP of mobiles, is sure that android OS based mobile users will be able to download the first release late this year.

Skyfire for android is already on the way to android and after the availability of firefox for android, the competition will be more tough. And you know who will get benefit from this tough competition, surely those are……… WE!!

In the previous versions of Android operating system it was very difficult to hard reset the mobile device, but with the introduction of latest Android 2.1, it is now very easy to reset android based phone like google nexus one. Go to Settings in Menu.

Although Google has introduced a simple way to disable Google buzz by logging into your gmail account and turning off Google Buzz ( a link at the bottom of gmail main page ), but still your profile will be visible to others.

Here are some steps to completely disable the google buzz and make yourself invisible to others.

First of all don’t turn off google buzz in gmail, and if you have already turned it off, turn it on to complete the procedure.
Go to http://www.google.com/profiles and delete all your public buzzes by simply clicking on delete link.
Go to Google Buzz in your Gmail and unfollow all those following people who have been added in your account by google.
Now block all the followers or individually block every follower. You can unblock them later on and followers will never be notified that you have blocked them.
Now go to Gmail main page and turn off google buzz.

How to Open New Tab at the End in Firefox

Recently firefox has been updated to version 3.6 with the addition of some new features like the behaviour of firefox tabs to open next to current tab instead of at the end of all tabs. Some user don’t like this way of firefox tabs’ opening because they are familiar with the old behaviour.

In IE and Google chrome tabs open in the same way as the tabs open in the current version of firefox i.e. 3.6. Though the idea behind this feature is to open the related links next to current active tab to group together, however for some users this feature is annoying.

Here is a simple method to change the tab order according to previous versions of firefox so that new tab opens far right at the end of all tabs.

Open the firefox and type the following command in location bar about:config
You will receive a warning message, click on I’ll be careful, I promise! button to proceed.
Enter this string in the filter text box to search it or you can search it manually browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent. The default value of this string is “True”. Click on the string and change the value to “False”.
Thats all. Now new tab will open at the end of all tabs.

DualBOOT: Run Android and Windows on same Windows Mobile

Geeks at XDA-Developers forum are very smart in developing different tools for windows mobiles and now they are also playing with android operating system. Gen.Y DualBOOT, a very strange name though, is a free tool to run the Android OS on windows based Windows mobile.

The Gen.Y DualBOOT app can be used on those Windows Mobile smartphones that have WVGA, VGA and QVGA screen resolutions.

This tools lets you to select which operating system you want to run on startup screen of windows mobile. You can select either android or the usual windows.

What the developers say:

This app has been tested on WM6.1, but will work perfectly on WM6.5.x as well. Keep in mind that your android setup must be installed already at the root of your storage card in order for this app to work correctly (e.g. \Internal Storage\haret.exe or \Storage Card\haret.exe respectively)

Redsn0w 0.9 Final version to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 Firmware

Redsn0w 0.9 is graduated from beta and now you can jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 firmware. RedsnOw is an alternative to jailbreak the iPhone. Other tools like blackra1n, PwnageTool and sn0wbreeze are also available and you can try this one if those don’t work for you.

In this release support for 3rd-generation iPod touch and IPCC tethering has been added.

How to Jailbreak iPhone using RedsnOw:

First of all update your iPhone version to latest one using iTunes.
Install the RedsnOw on your computer and launch it.
Open the Redsnow and browse to the 3.1.2 .ipsw file. (links below)
Redsnow will check the integrity of the file and apply the patch automatically.

iPhone 2G users can select both “Install Cydia” and “Unlock” options. iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPod touch users should only check on “Install Cydia” to jailbreak.

Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will have to quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

Now sit back and let Redsnow to work. Your device will restart automatically with jailbroken iPhone 3.1.2.
