How to Extend Trial Period in Windows 7

windows 7One of my friend sent me a great trick to extend the 30 days trial period in windows 7 upto 4 months. Though Microsoft is offering Windows 7 Enterprise Edition for 100 days free, but this trick is really useful if you have already installed windows 7 or you installed any windwos 7 other than Enterprise version.

I was just reading on this netpedia that windows 7 has been installed on 1% computer of the world till now. So if you are one of them and you have got genuine trial version of windows 7 by any means, you can extend the trial period. To check if your windows 7 is genuine, softpedia has listed some instructions for you.

Perform this trick when you are near to zero of your trial period. To check how many days are left, click on start, right-click on computer and select properties. At the bottom under you windows activation dialogue box, you will see how many days are left in your trial period.

How to Extend Trial Period in Windows 7:

Step 1: Click Start, All Programs, Accessories. Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run As Administrator. Enter your administrator password.

Step 2: Type the following command and press enter:

slmgr -rearm

It is slmgr space hyphen rearm.

Step 3: Restart your computer and check again the trial period.

You can perform this trick for three times. I have not tested this trick till now but I hope it will work.
