iREB 4.1 is now available to download for Windows and Mac users. iREB lets you to put your idevice into a pwned state so that you can upload the custom firmware to the device.
Though the latest Snowbreeze 2.1 (for Windows only) and PwnageTool (for Mac only) have also got the same feature, but this app works on both Windows and Mac machines.
The devices supported by iREB include:
- iPhone 2G
- iPhone 3G
- iPhone 3G[S] (old & new bootrom)
- iPhone 4
- iPod Touch 1G
- iPod Touch 2G (MB & MC)
- iPod Touch 3G
- iPod Touch 4
- iPad
- Apple TV 2
How To Use iREB?
First you will have to prepare a custom firmware for your iDevice i.e., iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Apple TV. For this purpose you can use Snowbreeze if you are on Windows (head over to this post for complete guide) or PwnageTool if you are a Mac user (read this post for complete instructions). After you have successfully cooked the firmware, use iREB to put the idevice into DFU (Pwned) state and upload the custom-made firmware to it.
Note: iREB Release 2 requires iTunes 10 or above to work.
