Lets Play Digg Digg !

digg3

These days I am on digg almost whole day and whole night. You can say I am little bit addictive to it. Well I made my new account on digg back in June but I used it only to submit different stories of my own blogs. I never digged the stories of others on digg.com.

Once I was reading an article about the benefits of digg and a line caught my attention. “If your story comes on front page, you will get a lot of traffic and your blog can go down due to heavy traffic coming from digg.com.” This sentence changed the whole scenario and now I am struggling to get my an article on front page of digg.com

But how to get your story on front page of digg??

This was the question which led me to search a lot about digg. I came to know many interesting fact and myths. And these days I am trying to prove which ones are true and which ones are false. :) And finally I am here to share my experiences with you people, with those who love this blog and come here to read the latest tech and internet news.

To get a lot of diggs is not an easy task, my friends, especially if you are new to digg and you dont spend your time on digg.com. Lets see the important points one by one.

DIGG FRIENDS:

If you don’t have friends on net, forget that your story will reach on front page unless you are lucky. But it does not mean that only a lucky man can getdigg2 this achievement. You can also achieve it my friend but you will have to struggle hard. If your content and headlines are very special, your article can go on front page. We will discuss later about content and headlines.

So if you have friends on digg who are regular diggers, there are more chances that you will achieve your goal. In fact your friends will digg it, and when the friends of your friends will see it, they will digg it and so on. You can say that these friends and friends of friends, in fact, control the whole digg.com. So the first step is to make more and more friends on digg.com.

If you succeed in making one powerful and influencer friend, request him to digg your article because it will raise the chances to be on top position. We will talk later who are powerful friends and how you can make an article popular (in next post).

CONTENT:

Content is very important to get more and more diggs. Suppose your friends place your article by hook or crook on front page but if the content is not unique and fresh, the article will be buried soon and you won’t get much out of this position. And if your content is awesome, your article can reach on top without any friend.

HEADLINES/TITLES:

Headlines are very very important. You can say that headlines contribute 50%, friends 35% and content 15% to be on front page, and if you want to stay on front page the content fresh-ideas-signshould contribute 35% out of 100%. The headlines or tiles of the stories should be very eye and mind catching. These headlines or tiles of the stories should be very eye and mind catching. These headlines should always be inclined towards negativity or positivity. Neutral headlines will get buried soon.

Believe me, very few diggers who lift your story up, come on your site to read the whole article. Most diggers only read the headlines and short description. Digg headlines can be different from the original headline of the article.

So make more and more interesting, hot and controversial headlines. The best way to know what types of headlines are popular these days is to visit the digg front page now and then; and try to understand the pattern of headlines which are on top position under the category in which you want to submit your article.

DIGG OTHERS’ ARTICLES:

To make more and more friends, you will have to digg/dugg the articles of others and especially of your friends. There are many benefits of digging the articles submitted by others or by your friends. You will get more friends, you will become a powerful and influencer user, and in return your articles get more diggs.

These two and three points seem very useless and to some bloggers very easy, but it is not so easy. Soon you will know how difficult it is. But I assure you if you follow those points, you will be on top page and I am also going to do so.

RULES/TIPS OF DIGG DIGG GAME:

I think its enough about digg guidelines, lets come to the rules of digg. I follow these rules while I am on digg and I hope you will agree with most of them.

RULE 1: Don’t start digging all the articles. You are not allowed to digg more that certain artiles, I think not more than 200 articles, in 24 hours. If you will try to digg more that 200 artiles, you will get this type of error as shown in screenshot below. Your IP and username both are recorded, so you can’t cheat later.

RULE 2: Ok if you want to use your digg limit in one sitting, try to digg those articles which deserve to be on front page.

RULE 3: Always try to digg those articles which are submitted or dugged by your friends.

RULE 4: Be patient in making new friends. You will get the similar type of error, as shown above, if you start making friends so quickly. But there is not limit in this. Wait for 2-3 minutes and start making friends again if you are alerted that you are going fast.

RULE 5: Try to remain in your niche. It means if you are more interested in technology or you blog about technology, digg the stories related to technology to get more exposure in this category and make more friends which are interested in tech news.

RULES 6: Respect others while commenting on any article.

RULE 7: Try to submit your best article when most of your friends are online or when maximum users come online. Time factor is also very important.

RULE 8: Try to be regular. It will help you to make more and more friends. Never be online to make friends only, always digg 30-50 articles if you go online for 4 times in a day.

RULE 9: Invite your real friends to join the digg and teach them how to digg your stories.

RULE 10: I made the above mentioned rules to follow whenever I login on digg. You can make your own rules and you will get the results soon :) . Good luck !
