Microsoft released Internet Explorer 9 just about a month ago. Today, at MIX ‘11, Microsoft unveiled Internet Explorer 10 platform preview. This version of the browser is built on top of Internet Explorer 9, which included HTML5 support and hardware accelerated graphics capabilities.
IE10 is said to support even more CSS3 standards, grid-layouts and gradients.
Microsoft posted a video on Channel 9 (video embedded below), and also posted some additional information on their blog. Microsoft has been working on IE10 for the last three weeks. They have revealed that they will continue to push platform preview build of the browser every twelve weeks until it reaches the beta stage.
Microsoft is expected to release this version of the browser with Windows 8, when it ships. Most likely in 2012.
