Facebook has finally unveiled the new app called Paper which is available in the US App store right now for download. The stores of other counties are still waiting for the app but hopefully within next week the app will be rolled to other regions as well.
Last week I got a notification that there is a new update available for Facebook app on my Samsung Galaxy S3 android smartphone. I usually update the apps from popular developers without reading further reviews and comments. I did the same thing with Facebook. I updated it to the latest version without reading what is changed in the new version and what other people are complaining about it.
Instagram is one of those applications which doesn’t allow you to download the uploaded content on your local storage. There is not any official built-in support for this purpose. Though there are a lot of apps which can do it but mostly they require rooted android phone to work properly. EasyDownloader for Instagram is a new applications available in the Play Store which lets you download the pictures and videos on your phone and that is done without rooting.
Here is a good news for jailbreak community. iH8sn0w has discovered a new exploit which enables the A5(x) devices jailbreakable for whole life. This new exploit is little different from the previous ones which also gave the un-patchable jailbreak on older devices. In fact it is not a bootrom level exploit but it targets the iBoot which is also called as bootloader.
So looks like all my A5(X) devices are fully untethered and jailbroken for life now. :)
More and more iPhone tweaks are being released everyday to give you full control on iOS 7 which would be otherwise impossible on stock firmware without a jailbreak. ‘Speak Notifications’ is one of those ultimate tweaks. After you have enabled it, you don’t need to unlock your iPhone and read the notifications. It allows you to listen every notification.
There are rumors floating around the web that Apple is going to introduce a new app for health and fitness in the upcoming iOS 8. As you all know that the Cupertino company always tries to hide the upcoming features and changes till the last moment but even then the internal matters leak sometime, and so is the case with iOS 8.
The first tweak of its type is now available in Cydia store which allows the users to un-lock their Mac computers using the TouchID feature of iPhone 5S. When you are near to your PC, you can use your fingerprints on iPhone home button sensor to bypass the lock-screen without pressing the keys on keyboard.
Few hours ago we saw a minor update for iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C users in the for iOS 7.0.5. The main purpose was to fix the issues and bugs which the users on China Mobile were facing. There is no new feature or any type of enhancement in it. So, you should stay on iOS 7.0.4 if you want to keep the existing jailbreak. In case you are security conscious, you can install the latest update but there is no official evasi0n 7 jailbreak yet.
Apple has just dropped iOS 7.0.5 for the Chinese phones to fix the bugs. Apparently this release is to fix some network issue that the China Mobile users are facing right now.
As promised back in November, the Taiwanese based HTC company has started rolling out Android 4.4.2 KitKat for HTC One. Initially the update is released for Europe only, and both unlocked and carrier locked devices are included in this stage. Once the release reaches your carrier/region, you’ll see a new system update. But if you have just checked it manually but still couldn’t find it, don’t get irritated as the roll-out is in early phase and it will take time to reach your phone.
If you accept it or not but Apple’s iOS takes your privacy more seriously than Google’s android operating system. I wouldn’t say it’s the fault of Android OS. In fact different phone manufacturers make the changes in the OS to customize according to their own style and needs but often forget some minor details which may become very annoying for some users.
By default Apple provides only one solution to protect your device from unauthorized use and that is Passcode lock. Once you have set the passcode then nobody can use your device, except few options which you have enabled to be available on lockscreen like access to camera app, notifications and control centre. But there are many situations in which you want to give access to few features and apps of the iPhone but protect the others.
Few days ago I faced a strange problem on one of my little old mobile phone manufactured by Sony Ericsson. It was not detecting my WiFi router’s SSID. Whenever I scanned for available Wifi networks, the required Wifi name was not showing up in the list. It was really a strange problem. On my other devices, iPhone 4s, Samsung Galaxy S3, my laptops, MacBook Pro 13″ and ProBook windows 8, I was not getting any such problem.
