Apple has already announced that it will not be streaming the event live this time. It is to be noted that iPhone 4 Media Event was streamed live for Mac Users officially. And the windows users found a nice trick to watch it on their PCs. Apart from live streaming, we will also miss one important person, Steve Jobs. After resigning from the post of CEO, the reports suggest that Tim Cook will be on the stage this time to unveil the next beast.

Just this previous Friday, news came that Verizon has submitted request to the United States District Court for the Northern District of California to file an amicus curiae, or “friend of the court,”, therefore giving Verizon the opportunity to intervene as a third-party in the case, and thereby help Samsung against Apple’s lawsuits. But, it looks like that Apple has more troubles to face, as the T-Mobile has also submitted a request to the court saying that such an order against Samsung would ”unnecessarily harm” T-Mobile and its customers.

The US mobile carrier further said that,

At this late date, T-Mobile could not find comparable replacement products for the 2011 holiday season. These investments cannot be recouped easily.

And as the T-Mobile marketing campaigns also include the Samsung’s Galaxy S 4G phone accompanied by the Galaxy Tab 10.1, they are right in saying that if Samsung products are banned in the US, it would greatly harm the T-Mobile company.

Though after this supportive movement of Samsung by T-Mobile, the Apple’s spokesperson Kristin Huguet simply said that

Apple needed to protect its intellectual property when companies steal its ideas.

But the main thing to be noticed is that now two of the main mobile carriers, Verizon and the T-Mobile, are supporting Samsung against Apple. Now Apple really has to be carefull in its moves. (via Huffingtonpost)

There has been a strong rumor, or well a confirmed report that Apple is holding a media event on October 4th to unveil the iPhone 5, and to release iOS 5. Usually Apple releases the major iOS version prior to launching a new iPhone model. So, it looks like that we would have the iOS 5 in our hands by 10th or 11th October . Twitter is trying to get involved in the iOS as it has announced two developer conference to discuss Twitter integration in the iOS.

The first conference is to be held on the 10th of October, while the second on the 12th. Apple has even told its AppleCare division to expect a high influx of iOS 5-related questions on October 10th.

So this confirms that the iOS 5 will be available for public by the 10th as it is most unlikely for Twitter to hold a media event for iOS 5 before the release of the software.

A demo of Twitter integration into iOS 5 was presented months ago to developers. This function will basically allow an iOS user to tweet directly from some certain apps, or share things on twitter directly through the iOS.

It looks like that the iOS 5 has many things for us in the bag which will only be finally disclosed to us after the public release. So just hang on for a while, and see what happens.

Apple Insider has reported that

Apple is quietly denying requests for employee vacations during the second week of October, hinting that the company currently anticipates an influx of customers to its stores around that time related to availability of its new iOS 5 and fifth-generation iPhone products.

More specifically, the iPhone maker has in some locations blacked out vacation time for employees from October 9th through 12th and October 14th through 15th, according to people familiar with the matter.

So the blacked out time October 9 till October 12 could be the time when iOS 5 and the iCloud is released, while the 14-15 October vacation blackout can be explained as the release of the much awaited iPhone 5.

After the resignation of Steve Jobs, new CEO of Apple Tim Cook will be on stage this time to unveil iPhone 5.

This report was first released by Nu.nl, which said that Samsung claims a ban on Apple’s all 3G products such as iPad, and iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. As all iPhones (except for the original) released to date make use of 3G technology, this ban would hold not only for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 4, but also for the upcoming iPhone 5, so Apple is really in trouble.

The Dutch site, Nu.nl said that

Samsung requires an import, trading and sales ban for all iPhones and iPads that use 3G technology. Samsung claims that prohibition not only for Apple, but also five private companies that distribute and sell the products.

Monday addresses the court at the request of Apple, based on whether patents are very general ban can be enforced.

Samsung claims that all the 3G products of Apple infringe its patents and it wants to pull them off the shelves in Netherland. Samsung said that Apple was “freeriding” with regards to the Samsung patents, so Samsung is likely to get a good advantage if iPhones and iPads are banned in the Netherlands.

Apple’s lawyers responded to this move by setting up a hearing to discuss the licensing issues with Samsung. Apple will have to pay the license fees if it wants to continue selling its products in the Netherlands. And if it doesn’t then, Samsung can even proceed to banning Apple’s 3G products in Netherland. But it looks like, the South Korean gadget producer has some things in its bag too. According to an unnamed senior executive of Samsung, they are just waiting for the iPhone 5 to come in the market. Then, they would take their revenge by suing Apple for violating Samsung’s wireless technology related patents.

Just after the arrival of the iPhone 5 here, Samsung plans to take Apple to court here [in Korea] for its violation of Samsung’s wireless technology related patents.

For as long as Apple does not drop mobile telecommunications functions, it would be impossible for it to sell its i-branded products without using our patents. We will stick to a strong stance against Apple during the lingering legal fights.

Now, this is trouble, Apple will have to downgrade to iPod territory to avoid litigation by Samsung.

Another senior executive who wished to remain unnamed said that

We are taking different tactics since we are quite confident. If Samsung wins in Germany that will give us a big breakthrough and so will other envisioned efforts against such products as the iPhone 5.

Today, MuscleNerd himself tweeted on his twitter account, informing the jailbreaking community about his visit to Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino earlier today.

So he has definitely visited the Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino. Just an hour after his first tweet, he again tweeted saying that

my host at Apple surprised me with that visitor’s name tag…I had expected it to be my real name :)

It looks like he was welcomed with a name tag of “MuscleNerd” instead of his real name. So now what we really fear is that, if MuscleNerd also joined Apple after Comex, than jailbreaking would be a lot harder than before, as these two were the main jailbreaking pioneers.

We’ve seen a lot of jailbreakers makers/hackers being hired by the company they hacked things of. First came news of Facebook hiring an iPhone/PS3 hacker George Hotz (geohot), then Apple hired the famous iOS jailbreaker Comex and following Apple footsteps, Google hired its source code snoop, Florian Rohrweck. So a kind of trend  is developing  to hire the person, who has the ability to damage you by hacking and then using him for filling the loop holes.

The only hope we have now, is that MuscleNerd keeps his relation with Apple only till visiting, and keeps making jailbreaks for the whole jailbreaking community. (via twitter)

But for better or for worse, the changes won’t be much more than a bump in speed, as it is being reported. The overall design and features that are presently available shall most probably remain intact. The move is most Probably being taken by Apple to remain competitive in the ferocious notebook market, as companies aggressively churn out faster and better notebooks to out-do one another. The late-2011 MacBook Pro refresh will deliver marginal speed bumps to the notebooks’ Core i-Series of Sandy Bridge processors but will otherwise introduce no material changes over the existing models.

Apple was recently rumored to be considering ARM for their processing chips as they consume significantly less energy as compared to Intel chips, which results in improved battery life, which in-turn is what ultimately Apple is looking for.

INTEL HASWELL ARCHITECTURE CHIPS

Apple takes power consumption very seriously, pushing Intel to do more to meet its demands of more efficient chips, chips which are faster, better, and consume less energy. Intel could answer back with a potential game-changer with their Haswell architecture based chips currently under the initial stages of development, although the transition to their Ivy Bridge architecture based chips would probably be made first.

If you are a regular news reader, than you must know that just last week a military airplane crashed somewhere in Chile before losing all radio contact and resulting in the death of all the 21 passengers aboard. Well, there was no way left to find the plane except one, using the “Find My iPhone”. Though the position of the plane is not yet discovered, but it is certain that one of the passenger had an iPhone so the Navy should seriously consider this solution, as this feature would almost exactly tell the location of the iPhone before it lost signals.

“Find My iPhone” is a brilliant feature built-in the iOS 4.2, originally made to find lost or stolen iPhones and is free for all the iPhone users by simply signing up with their Apple ID.

Apple has reportedly contacted battery manufacturers Simplo and Dynapack for thinner and lighter batteries for the iPad 3.The latest report could concur with the aforementioned details as a thinner battery could leave more room for a HD display, which tend to take up more space. Taiwan Economic News also reports that although the thinner batteries would help in reducing the overall size of the iPad 3, the cost would drive up to an increase of almost 30% for Apple. The new batteries are also supposed to be safer with better longevity.

With the upcoming iPad 3 to feature a thinner, lighter battery module that is widely believed to be priced 20-30% higher than iPad 2’s, Simplo Technology Co. and Dynapack International Technology Corp., both Apple Inc.’s contract suppliers of iPad and Macbook battery packs, will hence secure a surefire profit drive for the near future.

Institutional investors pointed out that the battery pack for iPad 3, scheduled to be massively produced in the first quarter of next year, has been redesigned to be thinner and lighter with a longer service life than iPad 2 edition’s

As per Apple’s trends, the iPad 3 most probably would be thinner and lighter than it’s predecessor, even if by a small margin. As per the increased cost is concerned, the whole brunt of it is not expected to be passed on to the consumer as Apple already has a very healthy profit margin on each unit sold.
