How to Jailbreak iPhone using RedsnOw:

• First of all update your iPhone version to latest one using iTunes.
• Install the RedsnOw on your computer and launch it.
• Open the Redsnow and browse to the 3.1.2 .ipsw file. (links below)
• Redsnow will check the integrity of the file and apply the patch automatically.

• iPhone 2G users can select both “Install Cydia” and “Unlock” options. iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPod touch users should only check on “Install Cydia” to jailbreak.

• Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will have to quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

• Now sit back and let Redsnow to work. Your device will restart automatically with jailbroken iPhone 3.1.2.

Warning 3g and 3gs unlockers, do not upgrade to 3.1.2 using iTunes if you want to keep your unlock. Baseband cannot be downgraded. Check out the dev team’s offerings. Also blackra1n doesn’t hacktivate.

Quickpwn is a popular tool to jailbreak the iPhone and it has been using for earlier firmware version but with the latest release of firmware of iPhone 3GS OS 3.0, it seems very difficult to jailbreak the iPhone.

After unlocking iPhone 3GS with Redsnow, reset your network setting from Settings->General->Reset->Reset Network settings once. The whole process is similar toiPhone 2G and 3G jailbreaking.

What is Needed for Jailbreaking?:

1. Download Redsnow for Windows | Mac | Linux
2. Download iTunes 8.2
3. iPhone Firmware 3.0 for iPhone 3GS

After downloading the required softwares, follow the simple steps below and you will be able to jailbreak your phone successfully.

—First of all: Make a folder on your PC and place all downloaded files in it and run the Redsnow from this folder and select the 3.0 firmware ipsw.

—Click on Open button and continue the process.

—In next Window check the Install Cydia option to Jailbreak your iPhone.

—Turn off your iPhone but make sure that it is still plugged in with cable and put iPhone in DFU mode.

—To go into DFU mode: Hold the Power button for 3 seconds; hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds, then release the Power button and continuing holding the Home button until your iPhone is in DFU mode.

—If you have successfully put your phone into DFU, you will be allowed to continue. Otherwise you will have to repeat the whole process.

Hurrah, after 8-10 minutes you will have your iPhone jailbreaked.

You all know that Apple has released the new softwre 3.1 for  iPhone and many people are curious to update their phones. How to use it?

1. Download Purplera1n and launch it. (for Windows | for Mac).
2. Click on “Make it Run” button” and your phone will go in recovery mode. This may take some time.
3. Purpera1n will run and it will reboot your iPhone.
4. After reboot, go to “Springboard” and press “Freeze” to continue.
5. Now click on “Install Cydia”.
6. Reboot your iPhone when the Cydia has installed.
7. Now you can run cydia from springboard and you can install the necessary applications.
