Like me, were you expecting a golden master release of iOS 6.1? But to surprise us Apple has just seeded another beta, beta 5, to the developers.
The professionals and renowned names of Jailbreak are also waiting for general build so that they can release the untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1. But Apple decided to test the nerves of all jailbreak awaiting people.
This is the second time the Cupertino based company released fifth beta for a non-major iOS version. At this moment we are not sure what is changed in it, but it is very clear that they have been definitely working hard on new Maps App. Besides that minor bugs and security issued are also focused with each release.
Until developers download and install iOS 6.1 beta 5 on their devices to test their untethered exploits, we can’t tell you whether Apple has managed to block and recently found security holes or not. We will keep you updated with the latest updates as soon as we get.
Meanwhile, who want to get iOS 6.1 beta , they can grab it from developers’ portal on Apple’s site.
Update 1: Stefan Esser, who is also known as i0n1c, a popular iOS developer and security researcher, told us through his twitter account that beta 5 of iOS 6.1 contains the build of final, not that of a beta. It means Apple decided att he very last moment to push it as beta.
Another researcher also confirms that it activates without needing the developer registration and that it has no ReleaseType Lockdown keys.
