iOS 4.0.1 Unlock with Ultrasn0w [HowTo Guide]

From unlocking perspective the important thing in iOS 4.0.1 released for iPhones (iphone 4, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS) is there is no baseband change and you can unlock you iDevice with ultrasnow. However, currently we can unlock only iPhone 3G because there is no jailbreak software available for iPhone 4 and the jailbreak tool for iPhone 3GS is still under development to support the firmware iOS 4.0.1.

Apple released a new firmware iOS 4.0.1 for iphones only with a minor change in the formula to determine signal strength. No more changes are announced officially.This update has changed the size of signal bars to display on iphone. Now the first three bars look taller. Earlier many users reported that they are getting poor service after they upgraded to iOS 4.0.

Apple Rolls Out iOS 4.0.1: Update your iPhone 4 /iPhone 3G/iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.0.1

It is really a surprise for us that Apple has rolled out the new iOS 4.0.1 for iPhone 4, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in a very short time. Yesterday a beta version 4.1 was released for developers only but now it is out of beta and available for all users (4.0.1 see first comment).

Jailbreak iOS 4.1 with Redsnow

Apple has released the expected new iOS 4.1 beta firmware for developers and to our joy Redsnow 0.9.5 beta 5 can be used to jailbreak this new version on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (non-MC). iOS 4.1 beta includes change to the formula for calculating the signal strength bar, besides other changes, but it might not resolve the reception/antenna issues completely.
