MIX 2011 kicked off today and it looks like day one ended with a bang. Not only did Microsoft reveal Internet Explorer 10 Platform Preview 1, but as it turns out a rather early build of Windows 8 has appeared in the wild.
Build 6.1.7850.0.winmain_win8m1.100922-1508 to be exact happens to be the last build that Microsoft finalized before Milestone 1 of Windows 8. Initially, build 7850 leaked via FTP, but now torrent links have started appearing on the internet as well.
Microsoft has just rolled the first major service pack of Office 2011, as promised by Microsoft last week. This update brings fixes for critical issues and improves the security.
New features include the ability to edit the existing messages in Outlook. Moreover, you can also redirect the message to a person with the replies delivered to the original sender in Outlook and resend the message.
Microsoft released Internet Explorer 9 just about a month ago. Today, at MIX ‘11, Microsoft unveiled Internet Explorer 10 platform preview. This version of the browser is built on top of Internet Explorer 9, which included HTML5 support and hardware accelerated graphics capabilities.
IE10 is said to support even more CSS3 standards, grid-layouts and gradients.
In the recent past we have seen some screenshots of Windows 8 but this is the first time Windows App Store images get leaked. Chinese site cnBeta claims that these images are real and the Store will be shipped in the first public build of Windows 8.
There are also reports that Windows App Store has passed internal tests and now it is being beta-tested both internally and externally.

Microsoft has just released the final, also known as RTM, build of Internet Explorer 9. All those users who have already installed IE9 beta or RC build can upgrade to final version via Windows Update while the other users who have IE8 or any previous version will have to download it manually.

Yesterday Microsoft rolled out a small update to Windows Phone 7 devices. The main purpose of this update was to make the ground for first major WP7 OS (firmware) update, codenamed “NoDo” which is to be released in early March.

Internet Explorer has been downloaded 1.5 times more than the IE8 beta in the same period of time.
