iH8sn0w has just pushed out Sn0wbreeze 2.9.4 to support the untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1.1 running on A4 devices and previous models namely iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1 and iPod Touch models. This update doesn’t support A5 powered devices that are iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new iPad.
Snowbreeze 2.9.4 is really important for those users who rely on unlock and want to restore the custom iPSW firmware with preserved baseband on their devices. This jailbreak tool does all the things at the same. It preserves the baseband and at the same time jailbreaks the iPSW file.
The recently released Absinthe 2.0 tool only jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 untethered but doesn’t provide any benefit to unlockers. If you have unlocked your device using Ultrasn0w or using Gevey SIM, you should use Sn0wbreeze 2.9.4 instead of any other tool.
This jailbreak tool is compatible with Windows operating system. The Mac users can’t use this tool on their devices. Mac OS X users will have to wait for Redsn0w which performs the same functions, and in some cases even more than Sn0wbreeze.
After you have installed custom iOS 5.1.1 firmware built by this jailbreak tool, you can install Ultrasn0w from Cydia store to unlock your iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. As we have told above it doesn’t support iPhone 4S, so don’t try on that phone.
