Google has just rolled out a new version of Google Search Page for Tablets. The changes in new Google Search are mainly related to design to give a better browsing experience to the end users.
Buttons are now bigger and text size is increased making the text more legible. Continuous scrolling is added on Images Search. The left hand column has gone now. Instead of that, options are introduced on top just before the results.
Google search for tablets is now available on all android, iOS (iPad 1, iPad 2) and other tablets. If you have got any tablet, just visit http://www.google.com/ on it and enjoy the new design.
Here is what Google Blog says about this new change:
As part of our effort to evolve the Google design and experience, we’ve improved the www.google.com search experience on tablets. We’ve simplified the layout of search results pages and increased the size of page contents like text, buttons and other touch targets to make it faster and easier to browse and interact with search results in portrait or landscape view.
The search button located below the search box provides quick access to specific types of results like Images, Videos, Places, Shopping and more. Just tap to open the search menu and select an option to see results in one category.
