Greenpois0n RC6.1 Available for Download with iBooks Fix

Chronic Dev Team has just dropped an updated Greenpois0n RC 6.1 version to fix the iBooks problem on iOS 4.2.1 jailbroken devices.

If you are not following the updates, the latest version of iBooks includes a smart code that detects the jailbreak state of device and disables the iBookstore purchases in response.

Whenever a use tries to open a book purchased from iBookstore, including the free book “Winnie-the-Pooh” on jailbroken device with Greenpois0n, he is prompted with the following error message:

There is a problem with the configuration of your iPhone. Please restore with iTunes and reinstall iBooks.

If your device is not jailbroken or you just restored to iOS 4.2.1, you should use the latest version of Greenpois0n only and that is “Greenpois0n RC6.1” till now. And in case your device is already jailbroken with Greepois0n RC6 or earlier version, you can simply install “iBooks fix” app from Cydia store to resolve this problem and you don’t need to restore and re-jailbreak.

The complete instructions on jailbreak with Greenpois0n are posted here for iPhone, iPad and iPod (Mac users here) and here for AppleTV.

Those users who rely on unlock should use the latest PwnageTool 4.2 and Snowbreeze 2.2 versions which this iBooks Fix has already been ported to.
