Guide to Jailbreak iOS 6 Final Version Free With Redsn0w on A4 Devices

After the release of iOS 6 final version, which happened few hours ago, now everyone want to knows whether they can jailbreak iOS 6 free using any build of Redsn0w. Well, here is a good news for those who have little older versions of iPhone and iPad. In fact iOS 6 can be jailbroken free on iPhone 3GS and A4 devices with Redsnow 0.9.15b2. But as the case was with beta releases, this security breaching hack is still tethered. Jailbreak for iPhone 5 or A5(x) devices, which include iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4 and iPhone 4S, is still not possible.

Without going into any further unrelated details, the jailbreak process is as follows.

Step 1: First of all upgrade your device to iOS 6 final using either the built-in OTA updater or using the standalone installer which can be downloaded from these direct links. We will, however, recommend you to update it with standalone installer using iTunes. But make it sure you have made a back up of your device before update

Imp. Note: If you rely on unlock, please stay away from this update and jailbreak process. We will publish a separate guide for that sort of users.

Step2: Download Redsn0w 0.9.15 b2 for Mac or Windows.

Step 3: Unzip and launch the jailbreak tool. If you want to use it on Windows operating system, fire it up in Administrator mode to bypass any compatibility issues.

Step 4: Connect your device with the PC and Redsn0w will automatically detect it. The main screen of redsn0w will also show you the name of your device, which you set in General-> About, the current version installed on your device and the current baseband (modem firmware).

Step 5: Now select “Jailbreak”. If you are asked to put the device into DFU mode, do so by following the instructions presented on your screen.

Step 6:Redsn0w will prepare the jailbreak data for your device. Just wait and let it finish its work.

Step 7:  Now check the “Install Cydia” option and click on next to proceed.

Step 8: After Cydia installation process has completed, select “Autoboot this device when it connects in DFU mode” so that the device reboots with tethered jailbreak. You will see Cydia icon on homescreen.

Note: For the time being this jailbreak is tethered on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, so you’ll have to perform the below steps to boot your device every time you shut it down or reboot.

Step 9: Launch redns0w. Go to Extras and select “Just boot”. Follow the instructions to put your device into DFU mode.

When your device starts, you will get the fully functional Cydia, Safari and other apps on iOS 6.
