How to Install Windows 8.1 on Windows 8 – Step by Step Method

Microsoft has just announced the new version of Windows 8 which brings few more and demanding features to the new operating system. Here is how you can get Windows 8.1 on your currently Windows 8 running computer.

First of all back up all your data and create a recovery drive in order to go back to Windows 8 if anything goes wrong during or after the update process.

Step 1: First of all go to Windows 8.1 Preview page and click on “Get the Update”. It will install a small program which will ask you to restart your device.

Step 2: After you come back from reboot, you will be greeted with a message saying that a new update is available for your PC.

Step 4: After the download is complete, the Windows 8.1 update will install. During the installation process, different compatibility checks will be carried out. In case your system fails to fulfill any requirement, the update procedure will terminate automatically.
