The newest version of Evasi0n 1.5 is already out. You should download it to jailbreak your idevice.
Today Apple released iOS 6.1.1 to fix the bugs and issues related to cellular connectivity on iPhone 4S. However, this release doesn’t contain any patch to stop the working of evasi0n jailbreak.
If you are facing any connectivity problem, but not any issue related to weather app, longer boot time etc, you should install the iOS firmware on your idevice.
It is, however, recommended by evad3rs team that the fresh and stock firmware update should be applied on iPhone 4S instead of using the Over-the-Air update in order to jailbreak the device later. The fresh restore always minimises the after-jailbreak issues and smoothes over the process.
We have already discussed the jailbreak process in details in our previous post. Here we are summarising the process again. If you are already familiar with evasion jailbreak, go a head. Otherwise, visit the detailed post first.
Step 1: Download Required Files
First of all download iOS 6.1.1 for your iPhone 4S. Save it on desktop or in an easily accessible place.
Now download evasi0n 1.3 version for your operating system. If you running Windows OS, here is the link. Mac users having OS X 10.5 or above can download it here. This jailbreak is also available for linux users. Here is the download link for them.
Step 2: Perform Backup
This step is very important if you don’t want to lose anything currently having on your iPhone 4S. If your main purpose is only to save the settings and personalizations, simply perform a backup. But if you want to do more than that, transfer the purchases to iTunes and synchronise your device before and after the backup process.
Step 3: Jailbreak
Now run evasion 1.3 and follow the onscreen instructions. In case you set passcode on iPhone 4S, remove it first. Remove the password set to iTunes backup too before the jailbreak begins.
Step 4: Restore
After your device is jailbroken, simply restore the backup on the device to get everything back in addition to Cydia icon. Now launch Cydia store, update the repos, and install your favourite tweaks and apps.
Happy jailbreaking!
