Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 2 on iPhone 4, iPad, iPod Touch with Redsnow

Earlier today Apple released iOS 5 beta 2 for the supported devices i.e., iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPad 2, iPhone 4 (Verizon), iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G devices. However iOS 5 beta 2 can be jailbroken on all these idevices, except iPad 2, using the existing version of Redsn0w.

MuscleNerd, the key figure behind iPhone Dev Team, has also confirmed that this new release is jailbreakable using Redsnow 0.9.8 beta 1.

5.0b2 can be jailbroken w/redsn0w from 2 wks ago http://is.gd/6eek4Y (must point redsn0w at 5.0b1 IPSW)..devs ONLY please

It is tobe noted that iOS 5 beta 2 is released for developers only, for those who are registered members of Apple Developer Program. All other members shouldavoid to install this update on their idevices otherwise their devices might become mere paperweight after the beta version expires. But if you are of adventurous nature and want to take risk to enjoy the new features introduced in iOS 5, you should read our “Should I Install iOS 5 beta on my iPhone” post which also describes how you can activate your device without having a developer membership.

iOS 5 beta 5 requiers iTuens 10.5 installed on you PC which can also be downloaded from Apple’s developer section.

So if you are a registered developer you can go with this jailbreak process which is same as we have mentioned in our previous post that was published at the time of Redsn0w 0.9.8 beta 1 release. The steps involved in jailbreaking both beta versions are same except that you have to point Redsn0w to iOS beta 1 when you are asked to browse for .iPSW file.

Redsn0w supports both Windows and Mac machines.
