How to Jailbreak Verizon iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.6 with Greenpois0n RC5 B4

Chronic Dev Team has released the updated version of Greenpois0n “Greenpois0n RC5 – B4” for both Windows and Mac users which can also jailbreak CDMA based Verizon iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.6.

We have already written the jailbreak process for GSM iPhone 4 on Windows and Mac. Though the untethered jailbreak process for Verizon iPhone 4 is similar to GSM iPhone 4 jailbreak but we are posting it again just for convenience.

Step by Step Guide to Jailbreak Verizon iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.1

Step 1: Download Greenpoison latest version for Win or Mac.

Step 2: Extract the jailbreak tool if it is zipped in a folder.

Step 3: Install the latest version of iTunes (10.1.2)

Step 4: Connect your CDMA based Verizon iPhone 4 with Computer via USB cable.

Step 5: Back up the contents on your phone using iTunes.

Step 6: Close iTunes and run Greenpoison RC5b4.

Step 7: Click on “Jailbreak” button and follow the instructions to put your device into DFU mode.

  • Press and hold the sleep button for 2 seconds
  • Continue holding sleep; press and hold home for 10 seconds.
  • Release sleep button; continue holding home for 15 seconds.

Step 8: Once your device is in DFU mode, the jailbreak process starts automatically.

Step 9: After the successful jailbreak your iPhone will restart.

Step 10: You will notice a new Loader icon on springboard. Press to launch it, install Cydia. Once Cydia is installed on your iPhone 4, you will be prompted whether you want to remove the Loader or not. Press the remove button and then press Home button.

You have successfully jailbroken (untethered) your Verizon iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.6.

In case anything goes wrong during the jailbreak process, you can restore to fresh stock iOS 4.2.6 using iTunes and retry.
