Jailbreak iOS 6.1 Untethered with Evasi0n 1.0 on iPhone 5 and Others [Step by Step Guide]

Update: The overall jailbreak process is same, but if you are facing any problem you should get the latest evasi0n version 1.5.

As you know Evasi0n 1.0 untethered iOS 6.1 jailbreak is now available for download, we decided to publish the complete step by step guide for those users who are new to this field.

There is no rocket science involved in the procedure. Everything is told during the process. There is a big relief that we don’t have to put our devices into DFU mode in this technique.

Here we go.

Step 1: First of download evasi0n v1.0 for your windows, Mac OS X or linux version. You can find the download links here. Unzip the file to extract out the actual software.

Step 2: Backup your device with iTunes.

Step 3: If your device is still running on any older version, update it to iOS 6.1. The users already running iOS 6.0, 6.0.1 can use it without needing the upgrade.

Step 4: Close iTunes and launch evasi0n.

Step 5: Make it sure there is no passcode set on your device. Since your iPhone will restart several times during the process, the passcode/lockcode may create issue.

Step 6: Connect your device using the USB cable and click on Jailbreak button.

Step 7: Now sit back and let the jailbreak tool work. It will inject the jailbreak code and upload Cydia on iPhone 5, 4, iPad Mini, iPad 3 etc.

Step 8: At one stage it will ask you to tap on new “Jailbreak” icon once. Do it and wait again. Don’t touch your device during the rest of jailbreak procedure.

Step 9: The software will show the jailbreak is complete now and you can exit. Even after this stage don’t play with your phone. The rest of work is done on your device. Wait until it reboots.

Step 10: Now your device is jailbroken. Launch Cydia and start installing your favourite jailbreak tweaks and apps.
