JailbreakMe 3.0 Release To Finally Jailbreak iPad 2?

A couple of hours back, Comex updated his previously outdated JailbreakMe website with a teaser. While it is not yet known what the teaser is actually hinting at, there is a strong possibility that this might be related to the long awaited iPad 2 jailbreak.

The image that you see here is live at jailbreakme.com, and it clearly is pointing towards a PDF based exploit, because right in the middle of this image, you can see the words PDF. Now no finer details as to what iDevices this applies to and what firmwares its going support are known as yet, regardless of that, we’re sure that is related to the iPad 2 jailbreak, for reasons we’re about to tell below.

Remember when we posted an image and video released by Comex of a jailbroken iPad 2 using JailbreakMe 3.0? Well that proved the fact that iPad 2 could be jailbroken using a userland based exploit, rather than a bootrom epxloit such as the Limera1n exploit to which the iPad 2 is not vulnerable.

Jailbreaking through JailbreakMe was very easy as compared to the other jailbreak tools with their complex steps. Users had to go to jailbreakme.com on their devices running stock firmware and simple slide a bar to jailbreak their devices, it was as simple as that. However, Apple patched PDF jailbreakme exploit in iOS 4.0.2.

However, Comex’s exploit which was used to jailbreak iPad 2 on iOS 4.3, was patched when iOS 4.3.1 came out and therefore delayed iPad 2 jailbreak release. Nevertheless, hopes are high as it looks like Comex may have finally found another way to jailbreak the iPad 2.

Update: Finally Comex confirms that iPad 2 jailbreak is about to release which will support from iOS 4.2.1 to iOS 4.3.3 on iPad 2. Read this new post for more details.
