NoSpot Removes Spotlight Search to Speedup iPhone 3G on iOS 4.x [Cydia]

If you have updated your iPhone 3G and/or iPod Touch to iOS 4.0.x, you may notice that your idevice’s performance has reduced a lot, esp after enabling multitasking and homescreen wallpapers by jailbreaking.

Earlier we shared a video showing how you can exclude all the items from the spotlight search to speed up your iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G, but a new app “NoSpot” is also available from the cydia that removes the spotlight from your phone.

Removing spotlight from your iPhone may help it run smoother and load up quicker.

So if you are a iPhone 3G user and don’t use spotlight, checkout NoSpot and install it from Cydia free.

To download any app from Cydia, it is must that first you jailbreak your iPhone 4, iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPod Touch. JailbreakMe is a new jailbreaking tool that lets your jailbreak on all idevices and on all iOSs upto iOS 4.0.1. It is to remind you that the latest iOS 4.0.2 is not jailbreakable and even iPhone Dev Team, who released KailbreakMe, also confirmed that they won’t release any jailbreaking tool for iOS 4.0.2.

In case you have updated your iPhone/iPod to latest iOS 4.0.2, head over to this post to downgrade to iOS 4.0.1 ( if you have saved SHSH blobs) and to this post if you didn’t save the SHSH blobs.

If you are using this NoSpot app on your iPhone or you are using our previously shared trick and see any performance difference, share your experience with other readers by leaving a comment below.
