Redire Tweak Adds Old Camera Icon on iOS 5.1 Lockscreen – No Need to Drag

If you love photography or want to get snaps in hurry, you surely like and use the new camera icon in iOS 5.1 which allows you to open the camera app with one simple drag. All you have to do is to drag up the lockscreen while keeping pressed on camera icon present next to “Slide to Unlock” bar.

You have also experienced that the single tap on the camera icon only pushes the lockscreen up slightly which then falls back. To reveal the camera, you have to drag the camera icon upward.

Redire tweak, available through Cydia Store, changes this behavior of the camera app present in iOS 5.1 and lets you to use the old way of opening your cam.

As usual, downloading of this tweak on your iPhone requires you to jailbreak your device because Cydia is available only after you have jailbroken your device. So far only A4 powered or earlier devices like iPhone 3GS etc can be jailbroken tethered using the latest version of Redsn0w. So, if you have installed iOS 5.1 on iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 3G/4G, you can get this tweak from Cydia.

NB: For those who are still on iOS 5.0/5.0.1 but want to get the new dragging camera icon, you can also get this new styled icon on the lockscreen by installing the “Camera Grabber for iOS 5” tweak from Cydia Store.
