Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 Released to Save SHSH Blobs for iPad Mini and iPad 4

MuscleNerd rolles out a minor update of popular jailbreaking tool Redsn0w 0.9.15b3. This new version now also supports fetching of iPad Mini and iPad 4 SHSH blobs. These both devices will be in the hands of some lucky users from tomorrow but iPhone Dev Team’s key member has already done his job. Redsnow 0.9.15b3 saves SHSH blos for iPad mini and iPad 4.

This new version also fixes the errors and bugs on Windows operating system. The users who were getting error 2601 and 14 while restoring custom or stock iOS firmware on the device.

Here is the official update regarding redsn0w 0.9.15b3:

Update #2 (Nov 1): Version 0.9.15b3 fixes the redsn0w “error 2601” that Windows users were seeing using the Restore button.  It also fixes a related Windows iTunes error 14 for stitched files.   Note that if you have a baseband, you should probably avoid stitching and simply use redsn0w’s native Restore (not iTunes).

Those lucky recipients of new iPad minis and iPad4s on Friday can use this redsn0w to save your 6.0 blobs off to Cydia.  First connect your new device and turn it on, then use redsn0w’s Extras->SHSH Blobs->New and point it at the 6.0 IPSW.

Expect an ultrasn0w compatibility update for iOS 6.0 by Friday (mostly useful for 3GS old-bootrom users who are currently enjoying the untethered 6.0 jailbreak!).  Same baseband support as with 5.x.

Thanks to @iamgolfy for helping test the 2601 Windows fix!

How to Save SHSH Blobs for iPad Mini and iPad 4 iOS 6:

SHSH blobs are very important for a device. We can downgrade to any previous version if we have the SHSH blobs for that particular iOS version. If we don’t have blobs, we won’t be able to downgrade. These blobs also help us to restore those iOS firmware on the device for which the signing windows has been closed.

Step 1: First of download the iOS 6 firmware file for iPad Mini and/or iPad 4.

Step 2: Now download redsn0w 0.9.15b3, extract it and then launch it.

Step 3: Go to Extras -> SHSH Blobs and click on “New”.

save SHSH blobs iPad Mini

Step 4: When it will ask for iPSW file, point redn0w to iOS 6 iPSW file which you downloaded in step 1.

Rest of job is as easy as ABC.
