The instructions to jailbreak iOS 4.1 with Snowbreeze 2.0.1 are same as posted here, but I am going to post complete howto guide here again if you don’t want to leave this page.

Step by Step Guide to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 with Snowbreeze 2.0.1:

Step 1: Download and install the latest version of iTunes.

Step 2: Sync and backup your iPhone’s all data like settings, contacts, photos, music and apps using the itunes.

Step 3: Download Snowbreeze 1.8 version and iOS 4.1 and keep them on your desktop.

Step 4: Open the snowbreeze and select the simple mode. If you want to enable multitasking, background wallpapers and battery percentage, select Expert Mode.

Step 5: Click the Browse button and select the iOS 4.1 firmware (currently available only for developers).

Step 6: If the firmware is correct, you will see the confirmation message. Now click Next to proceed.

Step 7: If you selected the Simple Mode, snowbreeze will ask if you want to activate (hacktivation) your iPhone. Click No if you are already using the supported carrier.

Step 8: Click Next and snowbreeze will create a custom firmware of iOS 4.1. The custom firmware will contain the word “snowbreeze” before the file name.

Step 9: Now to restore the custom iOS 4.1, connect your iPhone to iTunes. Click your device in the sidebar of itunes and press and hold the left “Shift button” on keyboard and then click on “Restore” button (not the “Update” or “Check for update“).

Step 10: You will be prompted for the location of custom firmware. Select the newly cooked firmware and proceed. Now sit back and let the snowbreeze work to complete installation.

Step 11: After the installation is completed, resync your all data and enjoy jailbroken iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.1.

Snowbreeze 2.0.2 has been released after fixing bugs and errors like 17, 40 and hacktivation problem. Download Snowbreeze 2.0.2. Other instructions are same as posted here.

Snowbreeze 2.1 is also available now. It jailbreaks all idevices and all models (New bootrom. old bootrom, MC, Non-MC) and Apple TV on iOS 4.1 and beyond. Find the step by step guide here.

    • I think you are on official carrier, in that case, yes, you can jailbreak. I will suggest you to use either Greenpoison or Limera1n. If you are on iOS 4.0 or beyond, you can also use JailbreakMe.

  4. Hello guys,
I had several type of errors
I used the tips on that website

    www(dot)shoutpedia(dot)com/fix-1600-1604-error-ios-4.1-snowbreeze-2.0.1-5927/

Mainly when creating IPSW, it should be standard. We should not customize much like adding .png photo or whatever.
also clear itunes cache ( C:usersusernameappdataroamingApple ComputeriTunesDevice Support ) I have emtied the above folder in my windows vista .

Also I have downgraded itunes from 10 to 9.2

    Good luck
