We already knew that iPhone dev-team was working on Spirit to jailbreak iPad, and finally it has been released. Spirit is a new way to jailbreak (untethered) iPhone 3.1.2 and 3.1.3, iPod Touch and iPad 3.2 firmwares.
The speciality of this software is that you don’t need to re-jailbreak your iDevice every time after a reboot.
Spirit is also the first public jailbreak solution that is available for iPad. Be careful when jailbreaking iPad because it is still in beta testing and you might need to restore your iPad if it doesn’t go all well.
On iPad, all this is still sort of beta. Some packages in Cydia, not designed for iPad, might screw up your system and require you to restore. Be careful. (And no, Cydia’s appearance is not final.)
Spirit also works on any version of iTunes 9 and including the latest iTunes 9.1.1.
Alert: If you are facing any problem while running Spirit on Windows, try to use it in Windows 98 Compatibility Mode.
