The official Ultrasnow 1.2.7 update is finally here to unlock iOS 5.1.1 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. As usual this update of Ultrasn0w doesn’t include the support for any baseband. It will work on already unlockable basebands only.
The previous version didn’t support iOS 5.1.1 officially but we could unlock our devices by using a trick which involves installing an Ultrans0w fixer before install the actual Ultrans0w unlock. However, this new ultrasnow 1.2.7 version doesn’t require any additional cydia package. After installing a custom iOS firmware, you can simply install the latest ultrasn0w package to unlock your device.
How to Unlock iOS 5.1.1 with Redsn0w 1.2.7:
Step 1: First of all backup your device.
Step 2: Now cook a custom firmware while preserving the baseband. For this purpose, you can either use Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze.
Step 3: After you have installed the custom iOS 5.1.1 firmware on your device, launch Cydia.
Step 4: Go to Changes tab and press the “Refresh” button on top-left to retrieve the latest packages from cydia servers.
Step 5: Now search for Ultrasn0w 1.2.7 and install it.
Step 6: Reboot your device.
After your device reboots, you’ll get the signal back on your iPhone 3GS/iPhone 4.
