iOS 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak exploit has been handed over to iPhone Dev Team, says Stefan Esser aka i0nic, the iPhone security expert. In fact the members of iPhone Dev Team are beta-testing the untethered jailbreak now.
Initially this undisclosed exploit was found in iOS 4.3 release by Stefan but fortunately Apple didn’t patch it in the latest iOS 4.3.1 release. Like the most previous iOS untethered jailbreaks, except JailbreakMe, untethered iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak is compatible with all those devices that are vulnarable to limera1n exploit.
The devices which can be jailbroken on iOS 4.3.1 using this undisclosed exploit:
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 3G
- iPod Touch 4G
- iPod Touch 3G
- iPod Touch 2G
- iPad 1
The only idevice which can not be jailbroken using this exploit is iPad 2. However comex managed to jailbreak iPad 2 running on iOS 4.3 but the hole has been patched now in the latest iOS 4.3.1 release. So the iPad 2 users will have to wait a little longer to get the untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1.
