Apple Rolls Out iOS 4.0.1: Update your iPhone 4 /iPhone 3G/iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.0.1

update to ios 4.1

It is really a surprise for us that Apple has rolled out the new iOS 4.0.1 for iPhone 4, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in a very short time. Yesterday a beta version 4.1 was released for developers only but now it is out of beta and available for all users (4.0.1 see first comment).

The one important change in this version is improved formula to to determine how many signals bars to display on your iPhone. It is to remind you that a lot of people who have got iPhone 4 are complaining about reception/antenna issues. And it seems Apple wants to give a little relief to iPhone 4 users by sending out this update that will show more signals but without any improvement in reception.

There are also reports that Apple engineers were well aware of this problem and they have warned Steve Jobs about the issue. The problem seems to be more related with hardware rather than software and if it is true this update is useless.

How to Update your iPhone 4, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.0.1:

The upgrade process to iOS 4.0.1 is same as mentioned in case of iOS 4.0. So head over to the post “Update your iPhone to iOS 4 in 5 easy Steps” for complete instructions.
